Green energy is definitely the best solution in most cases. Technology like solar energy, wind power, fuel cells, zaps electric vehicles, EV hybrids, etc have come so far recently. Green energy even costs way less than oil and gas in many cases.

I felt compelled to add a little more to that 4th question. The readers might have expected 5 answers based on that headline. :-)

The letter to Congress referenced in the post was from ACORE and signed by many of its members. ACORE describes its membership as "paying members from every aspect and sector of the renewable energy industries and their trade associations, including wind, solar, geothermal, biomass and biofuels, hydropower tidal/current energy and waste energy."

Intel has long been a supporter of funding for basic science and research. And, we've clearly stepped up to the plate in terms of Green Power. We did so for many of the reasons outlined in the letter. To lead by example; to generate additional interest and investment in renewable energy; and to promote long-term sustainability of the market.

However, we aren't members of ACORE and at least currently, don't fit with most of their member profiles.

So, the short answer to the question is that we aren't members of ACORE and I personally didn't now about the letter campaign.

Hope that helps.
