T. Boone Pickens: Kicking Off the World’s Largest Wind Farm
Our favorite oil-baron-turned-wind-power-wildcatter, T. Boone Pickens, will make the first down payment this month on 500 wind turbines for his plan to build the world’s largest wind farm in Texas, says the Guardian. Over the next four years, Pickens plans to build 2,700 wind turbines that would supply 4,000 megawatts — enough to power 1 million homes.
It’s interesting that Pickens tells the Guardian that the wind farm will cost $10 billion to build, because we’ve previously heard figures closer to $6 billion (via the WSJ). Perhaps Pickens underestimated the cost last year. As we pointed out in February, the cost of the raw materials to build turbines, as well as demand for turbines themselves, have been lifting the upfront costs of building wind farms.
And the costs of building Texas’ transmission lines, to move the power from the farms to more populated areas, has been adding up, too. The state could spend anywhere between $2.95 billion and $6.38 billion on laying new lines, according to a recent report.
But Texas and its entrepreneurs like Pickens are willing to make the investment. The state leads the nation in wind power and is building a booming industry off of the renewable energy technology. Texas not only has large stretches of windswept rural plains, but it has the kind of regulatory atmosphere that can fast-track wind projects.
The farmers who own that windswept land can also make significant money off the farms. A New York Times story mentioned a farmer that makes $500 a month for each wind turbine on his property. Pickens tells the Guardian he’s paying $10,000 and $20,000 in annual royalties for every turbine farmers allowed on their land.
And it’s becoming a point of pride for Texas — Jerry Patterson, the Texas land commissioner, told the NYT, “We’re No. 1 in wind in the United States, and that will never change.”
Here’s more coverage of the imitable T. Boone Pickens:

No matter how many time I see this guy’s name, it never ceases to amaze and delight me. He’ll make a perfect evil alternative energy overlord.

The rise in the cost of materials is affecting all energy sources (as is the simultaneous rise in the cost of fuels, although wind is fuel-free so not directly affected by that).
News reports on the cost of transmission lines in Texas didn’t quite capture the full story. See http://www.awea.org/newsroom/pdf/Texas_Study_Transmission.pdf for a different view.

Plan to Help the USA! Please read.
Reduce demand and the price will fall! Even one year of this plan will result in huge benefits for America.
This plan would have a greater impact if implemented nationwide. Please consider and share with our legislators.
Enough is enough it is time to take action on fuel prices. There is something that can be done that will save millions of gallons of fuel daily without sacrificing anything. The only thing that we will need to do to make that happen is for a small percentage of our population to make a minor change in their work schedule.
The plan:
Change the school week to a four day week by increasing each of the remaining four days by 2 hours of class time each day. This will provide the students with the same amount of instructional time and in most schools even an additional 30 minutes of instructional time.
Results:
All school buses travel will be reduced by 20% as well as the diesel usage for the entire fleet of school buses will be reduced by 20%. Just think how much diesel fuel will be saved each week. The students will still get the same amount of instructional time.
Possible residual benefits:
Students will have a full day to work on homework, special research projects, and reports rather than dividing each evening into small blocks of time.
Many parents will not need the before/after school care because the student work day will be more in line with the standard 8 hour work day of their parents. (This will further reduce transportation needs to daycare each day.)
Parents who have young children in before school care/after school care already have caretakers available for short school weeks, holidays, and school vacations. High school students could earn extra money by assisting day care facilities with part-time help needed for the extra day of child care.
Students who need special tutoring will be able to devote a full day to the tutoring. (This could happen by having older students tutor younger students at neighborhood community centers, churches and day care facilities.)
In addition, emissions from the school buses will be reduced by 20% if they operate one day a week less.
Schools strapped for funding will be able to save on fuel expense. That savings could be used to fund the class size reduction, materials and even additional tutors.
No employees will need to be cut or reduced due to the lost day. Current qualified classified employees (food service workers, bus drivers, etc.) will be assigned to an ESE teacher or an inclusion teacher to provide tutoring or assistance to special needs students one day or a certain number of hours a week to make up the time so that will not need to sacrifice pay. This will also enhance academic assistance for our special needs students.
No employees will need to be cut or reduced due to the lost day. Current qualified classified employees (food service workers, bus drivers, etc.) could serve as aides, substitutes, media center assistants and other service related jobs during the extra hours to make up for the hours of service.
Staff development may take place during the extra day so that teachers do not need to leave classes for professional development activities.
In the 1970s America immediately responded to the increase in fuel prices and took action to reduce consumption by reducing the speed limit on the highways to 55mph and by changing to daylight savings time. This plan will be even less expensive to implement because we will not need to change speed limit signs which is labor intensive. Schools are currently beginning to plan the calendar for the next school year. It is now time to take action and help save our economy and help save our planet. Be a hero, TAKE ACTION NOW!
Thank you for taking time to consider this plan.
How can we see if the people will support this?
How can we survey people?
I also believe that people who can afford solar and wind power should invest in it.
If you divide 10 billion dollars by 1 million people you get 10,000 per person? How is this going help everyone long term? It will tank the economy faster than you can say Petroleum. I think the current Nuclear and oil/gas just needs to be able to drill and operate more freely like the rest of the world. Americans are dark ages in terms of energy. They a lack the ability to be able to address practical ways ot use current known energy.

Is there any connection between the T. Boone Pickens wind generator plan and the land rip-off idea called the Trans Texas Corridor? Just think – if the government takes (eminent domain) all the land for this corridor which is planned to go from the Mexican border to the Canadian border right up the center of the United States Mr Pickens will have the wind corridor he is looking for. What will all these fans operating at the same time do to the wind patterns in the US – not to mention this same corridor is the one the birds use during migration.
I saw T. Boone Pickens on CNN this morning. Here is an oil man who says we are in trouble! I whole heartedly endorse his wind project. I felt his frustration that we are in trouble and NO ONE is panicked, not the Whitehouse (expected), not Congress (ineffective), not the American People. I am disappointed that there is not an outrage in this country at what is happening energywise. Our country is unraveling!
Mr. Pickens, I have a wind power project that I would like to show to you. It has no moving parts, will cost 1/10th the price of any wind mill made today, and produce more energy. The name of my company is Envision Energy Systems, EES is a green energy development company. At this time we have 20 new technologies under contract, three of these are my inventions. Please allow me to talk to one of your engineers about these projects. Mr. Pickens with your help we can make these United States the great Nation and Great Power we once were. My cell is

Using wind is all well and good Pickens, but using the term “We can’t drill our way out of this” in your radio commercials, totally turns me off! Don’t go there! We need to do BOTH! Both increased domestic drilling for more oil, and alternative energy sources. You lose me pal, when you start sounding like some anal, Earth-First Environmental Wacko!
…about as much energy as one nuke plant but covering an area many times the size and requiring much more infrastructure to transmit and service.
Seems pretty inefficient.
This article says the wind farm “would supply 4,000 megawatts — enough to power 1 million homes.”
In New Zealand, that much electricity would power 1.6 million homes. Perhaps the reason that the USA is running out of energy is that each home uses too much.
T Boone Pickens for President!! There doesn’t seem to be a national sense of urgency. It is time that the East coast and West coast come together right here in the middle of our country and make some energy. Being politically correct is nothing but hot air – what an energy source.
I am 59 years of age and have been a strong advocate for alternative energy since the seventies. I beleive that solar, wind and water are the future. We need to capitalize on these as soon as possible and the government needs to allow more tax credits for individuals interested in using new technologies in their homes and business’s.
Good for you, Mr. Pickens!
Up here in North Dakota (the most windy state in the union) we have the ability to emplace tens of thousands of wind turbines with only a minimal effect on our total farming land area.
A superb concept!

I am totally in favor of using alternative energy sources now and investigating how best to use any and all of them. I currently have an idea of how to power the streetlights on the freeways using wind power from the cars going by. The power source would be right there at the place of use. I wish that I could find someone to help me put my idea out there. My idea is only applicable for freeways but on the other hand, we use a lot of power for lighting our freeways and this would be a big energy saver.
Are there smaller wind turbines than we usually see in photos? If so, how do you go about having two or three installed ? Or even one large one? I have room for several and would love to pay my electric uses this way.
I think your ideas are the best I have heard to deal with the energy problems. At least you are thinking and planning ahead for the children of the future. I live in Florida and drilling off the beautiful coast doesn’t seem like the best idea to me. Thank you for your ideas and I encourage you to continue. We can I do to help?
will you be selling stock or bonds to invest in your windmills ?

tell me how or what to invest my money into the wind turbine market.
Wind, solar, geothermal alternatives . . .we need them all! We have clean resources available to help meet our energy needs. How much more proof do we need to decrease our dependence on foreign sources and to begin respecting our limited ecology.
Wind turbines are ugly? Well, coal mining is uglier! Wind turbines will eventually be abandoned and left behind to fall into heaps of discarded metal? We recycle our old cars, old computers, and plastic milk jugs. We even recycle our old shopping bags! How can anyone realistically believe that old turbines would not also be recycled for their scrap value?
It’s time the arguments and debates be sidelined. This is Mr. Pickens’ decision and his fame if it works or his infamy if it fails. I personally think that this nationally recognized man AND his advisors have given this $10 Billion venture due consideration BEFORE he put his name and dollars behind it.
I don’t claim to have ANY knowledge of how to solve our energy needs. . . only the knowledge that something MUST be done and time to solve these problems is getting shorter. At least, Mr. Pickens has a plan and it certainly is time we diversify into new sources to meet our energy needs. The cleaner, the better!

First thing we have to is put politics aside and do what is best for this country. Until we do that nothing will ever happen that is in the best interest of our country. The wind farms are a great idea; I’ve personally worked on some of these wind farms across the country, and I think they need to be built along with more solar and nuclear plants. Wind is the quickest fix, but we have to look 20 years, 50 years into the future. There is no simple fix for the situation we put ourselves in, but we can fix it. We have some of the brightest engineers and scientist the world as ever had and it’s time to put them to good use.
Wind farms are good for everyone. The only thing wrong is they have the wrong wind mill. We have a wind mill that will out perform anything out there today and is small enough to put in your back yard and not be noticed. The windmill generator we have will start at 2 miles per hour and can still go at 100 miles per hour. The windmills out there today start at 17 miles per hour and have to be shut down at 30 miles per hour. Mr. Pickens needs to come and see for himself that we van producce 12 times more power with ours than any of the others. Thank you
I would be interested in seeing what Richard Mason has, based on his description.

I hope that you somehow see this, although I don’t know how you could. my family has owned 2 farms in which everyone has been offering my family millions of $ through the years for residental development. We have refused to sell as they are some of the last farmland in our area. A few years ago I started mentioning to my mother the idea of wind mills as i have observed them in areas i have traveled. My mother has agreed, but i have never had the time to go after the info, as I am a single mother trying to do everything which I can’t even beging to get into the details as its endless. Today there was a article on the front page of the newspaper in our city, and we own almost 50 acres of land total, and i need your help on where to go with this, how to move forward, as we are ready to help the world so there will be something there for the generation after us. i have been also for years interested in solar companies also, and need to find out what would be better in our area. I follow the market daily, and have been aware of the country trying to move forward in the hunt for alternative energy sources, and it finally looks like someone is finally making some progress on getting it going, especially a oil man like yourself taking the big dive into uncharted waters!!!!!!!!!!Please contact me as I am so excited!!!!!!
Dear Mr. Pickens
Although I agree with your basic ideas, I don’t believe your television advertisements are directed towards the good of the United States of America. After I looked at your website I began to see the real reason. I believe it is the power of emanate domain you are after.

Dear Mr. Pickens
I have 140 acres of flat land in the northwest corner of Kansas. Its 235 miles east of Denver and the wind blows almost every day. Its almost just like Panhandle in west Texas except right now it is sprinkler irrigated. Could you tell me about how many wind turbines can be placed on this property? Also a ball park figure on how much money I could make per month? Please reply. Thank you

Has anyone factored in population increase in the next 30 years ?? If we conserve or increase output by 10 percent and population increases 20 percent what have we gained?? We can not win unless population increase is stopped or slowed.
WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE WE DOING TO THIS COUNTRY? Millions of acres of natural habitat taken up for wind farms? Thousands of huge turbines sticking up into the air that will kill millions more birds and bats than skyscrapers, cell towers and other turbines already do? You people think this is “clean” energy? Not hardly! Do the research. This will devastate already severely declining numbers of migratory birds. Many of these beautiful songbirds spend the winters in the tropics and the summers in North America and Canada. These warblers, tanagers, grosbeaks, orioles, vireos, thrushes, buntings and other federally protected species migrate mostly at night and during rainy or foggy nights will not see the structures towering into their flight path. This is a calamity that must be stopped! Call Congress! And someone educate T. Boone Pickens! I want my birds to return every year!
In September of 1994, the World Trade Towers killed 140,000 birds (mostly warblers) in one single night during fall migration. Many were young birds making their first journey and never returned to breed the following year. Just a few years ago a cell tower and its guy wires in Kansas killed nearly 10,000 Lapland Longspurs during a foggy night because the lights disoriented the birds. These are just two examples of the many potential disasters that await our birdlife with thousands of skyscrapers, cell towers and wind turbines. Stop the turbines before it’s too late!
T. Boone Pickens is a chimp.
Anybody stupid enough to bankroll the Swift Boat ads against John Kerry couldn’t be trusted to put the toilet seat down — let alone reform our energy policies. To attack a Vietnam vet like Kerry is shameful. It makes me wonder if ol’ T. Bone ever served a day in the armed services. Or, is he a Chicken Hawk like all the other big, brave right wingers?
I have to disagree with you on one thing. We can’t blow our way out of this. We need oil for more things than to just generate electricity. It is a lovely thought to just build hybrids, etc but how many cars are there already out there that require more gas. These cars will be around for years. For one thing most people can’t afford hybrids and if they already own a car they don’t want to turn around and go in debt for another one. Also pertainiing to drilling off the coast of Florida. The Cubans are allowing other countries to drill off their coast. It is unlikely these countries are going to be nearly as environmentally friendly as American companies. They can use techniques to get oil that is in American territory while we sit around with our thumbs up our rear and build windmills that won’t make a great bit of difference for years if ever.
wat ur birthday
How does one contact Mr. Pickens to give him more useful idea or information??
I am puzzled by your recent ads claiming to want to replace gasoline with natural gas and claiming “it’s cheap, it’s abundant, and it’s ours”. If that’s the case why are my heating/hot water (by gas) bills over $300 month and due to rise another 50% this winter? I live in a two-bedroom apartment, am on SSDI and will need to keep my thermostat on 52. and wear longjohns and freeze my ass off as I did last winter just to pay my bills. I don’t understand.
When you add up the numbers, TB Pickens will be making a profit in as soon as 6 months. Anyone smart would buy stock in this, and probably already has. This technology is still at the gtround floor and will only get better as it evolves. TB, your a smart man.
Mike Stanton
I have a very unusal idea why don’t we do it all! Drill for more oil (North Dakota & Montana have several billion barrels), drill for natural gas (the USA has 1149 trillion cubic feet proven reserves), Coal (you mean to tell me we can put men on the moon but can’t make coal burning clean, Solar (parts of our are perfect for solar), Hydro electric ( you don’t have to build Hover (Bolder) dams, small units take water from rivers run it through turbines and put it back), Nuclear has its place, and last but not least WIND POWER (especially if we put some wind mills in Nantucket sound Mass. right in front of the Kennedy Compound.
If you need any help with the maintenance on this mess let me know,WoodGroup has the personnel to keep you up and running!! We are located in Farmington,NM and have the largest machines in the area, balance bunkers for at speed balancing, rotor rebuilds etc…
Mr. Boone Pickens, I saw your ad on TV. When you speak about us not having the technology needed today to stop this oil crisis were in, you are either ignorant or an outright liar. H20 is One part Hydrogen and two parts Oxygen. Hydrogen fuel is the cleanest burning fuel that is in Water H20 and easy to convert safely because the water stabilizes the Hydrogen. I have seen it done and that is making a canister with charging cells in it with (+) & (-) battery power to the cell that causes the Hydrogen to come to the open pocket in the top of the canister which it drawn into the intake manifold of an automobile and the ECU Module with sensors regulate the flow of fuel through the fuel injectors and burns the Hydrogen saving you half more mileage per gallon of Gasoline. This is just a small canister. You know this to be true. It’s nothing new to technology. You just don’t know how to make money because it comes from a free source of God from the skies. It’s greed that powers the Oil Industry. You’re not here to help the problem at all. You are here for the money and speak half truth and half lies to the gullible people that know no better.
dear mr. pickens i am interested in starting a natural gas filling station in my town. call me 318-230-1741
Anyone who heats their home with natural gas should shudder at the thought of this plan. Any slight raise in the demand for NG causes the prices to sky rocket, making paying heating bills painful. If we really want to change the world and save the planet we need to find other energy sources. How about something that super rich oil men from Texas can’t charge us for only to make themselves more super rich! Solar anyone?
To whom it may concern, the thought of using food as an alternate energy and fuel solution only squeezes the financial balloon creating an inflation or future crisis at the other end. There is no real food shortage, as the matter of fact food is so abundant that restaurants around the World throw out Tons of food daily, even you have to many left overs. You will be led to believe a food shortage is coming in the near future due to Alternate Energy Solutions? What ever….. I have a solution, I have a Guaranteed Solution that has nothing to do with Food and will even decrease the cost of Food and Farming as well as Global Warming and Oil Wars. I have a Solution that requires no wind turbines and slowly will dissolve Nuclear Energy and Environmental Damages created by Dams. I have a Machine I’m ready and willing to build for approximately $15,000.00 US Dollars under strict Confidentiality and Non Disclosure Agreements. I have a product that can take America from a Depression and spawn the next Industrial Revolution. Understanding that even people that don’t invest in me will still see Profit Margins as I slowly eliminate the need for Power Bills and Fossil Fuels. I estimate a National average of $6,000.00 to $12,000.00 in savings per average house hold. If this does not interest you in the least, than you are potentially here as a debater with nothing else to do. I am offering a Guaranteed Solution. I am also very weary of people in which I allow myself to be associated with. I will promptly respond to people who contact me with interest in my Technology. Brain Pickers with weak reverse psychological tactics need not waste your or my time. I will not under any circumstances release any Proprietary Information in which I deem Confidential.
Sincerely Yours and dedicated to our future,

My invention produces electricity much more efficient than wind generators, more consistent energy output, requires much less space than a wind farm and is just as green as wind farms. I am currently working on getting a patent, so it has to remain rather secretive for now due to all the red tape and expense that goes along with obtaining a U.S. patent. I fully expect to severely outproduce ALL wind farms when I’m done obtaining a patent. Watch for it!!!!
Sounds like a great idea. How many wind turbines would it take to supply our energy needs? Instead of just planting wind turbines across the land, build tall structures to support wind turbines vertically above the ground, so you have large arrays of these turbines in three dimensions, not just two. Better yet, build these structures in such a way that they help focus the wind.

I have an idea that I am sure you would be interested in. I know that everyone does, however my idea will exceed all others. I can make an engine run without gasoline or any combustibles at all. For twelve years I have thought about it everyday. I know it will work if I just had someone to help me with funding and experimentation. I am a third generation mechanic and I know this will work just as good as a gasoline engine with no exaust. I would love to hear from someone that may be of assistance. I have much knowlege of engines and thes types of projects but have always lacked the ability to take my ideas any foward. I am positive that with the right help, this could be the kind of project that America could benefit from. An engine without any gas at all, WOW.
I don’t always want to be a complainer but I am very concerned that Republicans will lose both the Presidential race and lose additional seats in Congress.
The party’s communications “stink” on all levels.
I know that the financial and housing crisis is a big problem but once the “bail out “bill has passed The implementation may takes months.
The recession/downturn while affacted by the housing/financila crisis is not the main problem that has to be addressed at this time.
Middle class families have increased gas, heating, food costs just becasue the price of fuel has increased from $2.25 to $4.00 since Dems took over congress.
WORD….WORDS…WORDS
not
ENERGY…ENERGY….ENERGY
Republicans/Democrats talk about it and point the blame finger but neither solve anything….results are what matters.
A plan is needed and congress is incapable of putting one together with measurable targets and timelines. Congress can legislate (MAYBE) but it can’t implement.
A Task force make up of BUSINESS PEOPLE should be implemented….Republicans should do this unilaterally…. with the mandate that within two weeks they should have an outline of broad targets. Business people can do this and have been doing it for years!
e.g.; – Begin drilling for oil and gas immediately (reduce imported oil by 2% by YE 2009, 10% by 2010, 30% by 2011, 50% by 2012 etc. OR SOONER)
Let Business run the plan… the congress’ role should be the enabler both by legislation and venture capital. US could recoup the investment as these ventures come on line.
We spend billions on imported oil that could be used to create the jobs (not min wage) to implement these projects and the investment could also generate offsetting tax revenue to further reduce our budget deficit.
Creativity is needed ……. a skill congress doesn’t have.
Please get suggestions like mine to your party’s communicators before it is to late and the election is lost.
Thank you,
Ken Lilienfeld

Mr. Pickens,
My name is Clark Bouguyon. I am 18 years old, I’m looking forward to getting into the marketing business and I’m not sure where I’m headed, or how I would fit into these plans, but I’m ready, willing, and able to learn all I need to learn to get this information to the youth of our nation to help provide a better world for my children in the future. I’ve been in leadership classes throughout my high school career and I feel like I have the people skills and the abilities to help make a difference. If there is any possible way for you to take me under your wing and teach me how to share this technology, please advise. I hope and look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your time,
Clark Bouguyon
Mr. Pickens, theres a Company in Shreveport, La. ..”Beaird Co” that makes the Towers for the Windlmills you want, this company is in financial trouble and you should consider buying it, now would be a good time to Build your Own windmills.
First, I just want some of your money. Then maybe a little bit more. I’m pretty sure I can come up with some cockamamie perpetual motion machine to keep the magnetoes running while the windmills are either frozen with ten inches of ice, or crumbling from dust erosion, or flying off to Kentucky when the bolts come loose in a high wind.
I’ve been experimenting with mega-doses of Viagra in squirrels that run on the little metal wheels. See, their little peckers get hard for hours at the time, and if they slow down, their Johnsons get caught in the little metal bars. One accident, and they learn to run in their sleep.
Did I mention I need some money?
Mr. Pickens. Thank you for all of the contribution’s you have made for the betterment of our Country and for us. Mark Brock , Michigan.
Mr. Pickens, I am originally from Southwest Nebraska, arguably the wind capital of the nation. I grew up on a farm and we raised crops and cattle, but the problem is that our region is very similar to West Texas. Traditional farming isn’t meant to happen in these areas, but wind farming is perfect. We have various stretches of wide open country that would be a perfect fit for what you’re investing in. In addition, it gives you the opportunity to help struggling communities prosper once again. Please respond to kylekitt54@hotmail.com to further discuss these valuable investment options. Thank you.
With T Boone Picken’s plan we will still be admitting fossil fuel emissions by using natural gas as an alternative, but we should still go with the wind farms. Come on Thomas come up with a better plan to get all americans behind you and we can get america moving again. DRILL NO MORE!!!
Mr Pickens I live in southern Ohio and am located in an area where we have to receive our electric power from a cooperative and it is getting quite expensive. Wind power is something that has really grabbed my attention. I spent 26 years in the US Navy and recently retired. I managed my money pretty well over the years saving all that I didn’t need to take care of family and home. I am very impressed with you and your ideas about alternative energy. I would like to talk to you about investing in my families future. could you please contact me at 740-867-3677 or e-mail @ jhboats@zoominternet.net
Thank you very much Jerry Henson US Navy Retired

Hydrogen is the future… natural gas is better than we are now…
Wind power is not the answer but in small amounts is good for security… to diversify our energy sources.
Natural gas is better than we have now… and is a good way to get off foreign oil … we should get GM to offer a Natural gas version of the Chevy Volt.
We should also be working more on Hydrogen fuel cells..
We live on a farm in N/E.Nebraska and would love the chance of having wind turbins on our property. How can we make that happen? Is there someone that can give us an e-mail back with more info ? Thanks
I have an idea for inexpensive (no fuel) energy. Not wind, not solor, not anything anyone has ever explored. I would like to get my idea into the hands of someone who could move forward with it, such as Mr. Pickens, but do not know how to contact him. I need the help of physical engineers and physical scientists to prove (or disprove) my theory. If my idea is sound, it is monumental. If I’m wrong, not much lost. The idea is, as others have told Mr. Pickens about some of his plans, absurd. It is however, based on all I know of science, and is workable. An idea so simple is seems impossible, so overlooked it sounds incredulous. Mr. Pickens, please contact me.
Dear Boone:
I have met you in the past at funerals in Amarillo, TX.
My brother in law, Mike Brickley will be featured on the cover of the New York Times on December 14th as patenting one of the year’s 70 best ideas. An ecological engine for automobiles.
He still needs assistance in funding his prototype.
We appreciate any consideration that your companies can give him.
Mr Pickens
I am a retired Navy veteran with 22 years service. I think wind power is a great solution to our energy problems. I spent the last 9 years working in the parts department of a major truck dealership, where drivers and owners of 18 wheelers are happy if they get 5 miles to the gallon. My fiance, a single mother, and I have put our money together(I quit my job and cashed in my 401K) and have started a oversize load escort service. We both believe in windpower and feel we can do our part by escorting the towers and blades all over the country. Unfortunately we were only able to afford (1) vehicle with all the necessary equipment. We would greatly appreciate any help you could provide for us to obtain another vehicle and equipment to further our effort to help America’s energy problems. Even if it’s just a loan or helping us get financing. Thank you for your time.

I think these things are an eyesore .. My question to Mr. pickens is :If this is such a wondeful idea why do you not have any on the 68,000 acre ranch in Roberts county?
Is this the same T Boone Pickens that was a corperate raider back in 1970s. If so I suggest you all hang on real tight to your wallet and do not sign anything.

Mr. Pickens I think that your ideals are awesome and very timely. I have tried to get government grants for an invention I’ve tried to develop for about 15 yrs. now with no one in Washington being very interested. I would truly appreciate your time in a possible consideration into a partnership into a creation that could possibly change the face of enviromentally contaminated areas. I have copies of letters to the various politicians I’ve sent my intentions to over the years. I’ve worked in the Nuclear business for 30 yrs. now and I too have seen a lot of waste. Thank you for your time.

Is it a good time to be doing this now?
Dear Mr. Pickins.
My husband and I own 2 and 1/2 archers of breath taking mountain land in Colorado and we are wondering if you would be interested in leasing the land to put up a wind turbine or two. Please let us know asap. Thanks.
Great quality stuff.
Hey, I’m running a blog myself too and I was wondering can you tell me what’s the template you’re using? thanks.
The current design fro windmills is not the best design to maximize the use of wind power. Too tall, too much space needed and not the most efficient.

I worked for Blattner Energy. Right now I’m laid off and I would be interested in working for T.BOONE Pickens Who would I need to get ahold of. Thank you Kyle
I need to contact T, Boone Pickens’ top Administrative Assistant “LiVE” – or equivalent – with an idea for something which ONLY T Boone Pickens has the vision, know-how, and courage with which to independently evaluate and see the possibilities.
The idea could almost immediately – with current “working similar gadgets” engineered already.
Kids could operate – each his or her own, from age 6 and up – under supervision: to generate clean electric energy, earn some money for school, a bicycle, get exercise, have better positive mental health, eat better at home and away – at all ages, study better at school, unemployed people could earn money selling the clean energy they create.
ONLY T. BOONE PICKENS is READY NOW FOR SUCH
INNOVATIVE IMMEDIATE ACTION; AND ONLY HE IS READY NOW – NOT to submit it to all kinds of study committees, etc; but to conversion engineers who already do such stuff by immediately convert stuff even simpler the “THE WIND.”
THIS CAN WORK WORLD-WIDE; HELP REDUCE HUNGER AND WAR AND LACK OF EDUCATION.
RESPECTFULLY,
Orville L. Gardner Indianapolis, INdiana, USA phone 317-255-4079 identify yourself and why you are calling and ask for Orville; if he is not immediately available, ask Orville to call you back at your best phone number(s) ASAP 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM Eastern Time USA (e.g. New York time).
I know I did some “TYPO” errors on my reply posting just minutes ago. Thank you.

My son has lost his oil related job after 11 years. I have suggested he change careers. We thought about the windfarm business, since it is alternative energy. How/who would he apply with? I’m sure he would need some sort of training. Where would he get this?
Thanks,
N. Burnside
