They have successfully demonstrated desalination using low level waste heat exhaust from a common refrigerator. Evaporating waste water in a vacuum requires only a small amout of energy, because there is very low air pressure and low resistance. Then the water vapor is condensed into fresh water.&lt;/p&gt;
