Energy Saver, The device you mention has no history of power usage, is only 5% accurate and the collected data never makes its way online.

Web enabled products such as Gridspy and WattVision allow you to check into your house from anywhere, spot historical power trends and gain a real understanding of long term power usage. It also makes it much easier for our customers to talk about power saving with their friends.

Also, in the case of Gridspy - we split the power usage up into multiple channels so it is easy to see where the power is going. Combined with long term data acquisition, Gridspy makes it possible to evaluate what sort of power measures are worthwhile and how much you will really save.

Tying this to the internet and doing a social network is all cool but here is a product you can buy for about $100 wireless and all. And I found this in a 2 min google search. I wonder if this company really has legs.
