Earth2Tech’s Top 15 Smart Grid Influencers

Adam Grosser, Foundation Capital, General Partner:

Influence: Has made several key investments in smart grid firms from Silver Spring Networks, to EnerNOC to Control4.

Adam Grosser was the only investor we put on the list (though our hats are off to Foundation partner Warren Weiss as well) given his and Foundation Capital’s overall track record for smart grid and energy efficiency investments. Grosser and Foundation bet on EnerNOC, a company selling demand response energy services (an early version of smart grid), back in 2005 when the energy biz wasn’t even a glimmer in the eye of Sand Hill Road. EnerNOC went public in mid 2007, and its shares rose 260 percent this year. Grosser and Weiss also invested in smart grid networking leader Silver Spring early on and kept on investing when the firm hit some early hurdles.

  • Impressive list! It sounds like George Arnold & all these companies plus many more have their work cut out for them. Wishing everyone all the luck to create a cleaner, smarter and more efficient energy system.
There are other companies that are working just as hard but not mentioned above. For example, http://www.titanenergyworldwide.com/

    Thank you for posting!
