Have you no perception or knowledge of industrial history?

As much as you're witnessing a wee bump in coal use for electricity, you should have been around a half-century ago or longer, dude.

I grew up downwind and downhill from 2 of the 3 large factory complexes that owned the New England factory town where I was born. Both had their own coal-fired power plants. Cheaper than buying electricity you see.

Before you took that first breath of morning air - after opening the window - you scraped the soot off the sill.

In other words, the opportunity for birth defects was qualitatively greater in the Bad Old Days.

Oh yeah, we cooked with coal gas. No natural gas available in New England back in the day.

I'm just suggesting you study a bit of history and science before jumping to conclusions.

The push on "Clean Coal" that creates more ash to dump instead of letting it blow in the wind and settle on homes. There is no such thing as clean coal. Just another can for the opposition to kick down the road. The chemicals from the ash is causing deformaties. It could be why more American babies are having birth defects.

Great Article. I had my share of worries about environmental issues taking a back seat during the economic downturn. With the marketplace changing I think it is a great opportunity for people purchasing solar products. I can recommend a couple websites to any shopper out there. You can get competing quotes for solar installation at http://www.solar-quote.com but if you're just trying to find companies out there near you I also have recommended http://www.solar-companies.com.
However you decide on an installation partner, the important thing is to actually do the research, find the right opportunity, and follow through!

Good Luck!
